“Blessed is indeed the householder who has a happy home, intelligent children, charming and soft-spoken wife, wish fulfilling wealth, sexual pleasure from own wife, obedient servants, hospitality to guests, daily worship of Lord Shiva, delicious food and drinks for the family and enjoys the company of good persons forever.”
~Chanakya Neeti Shaastra
‘Vaastu’ is derived from the Sanskrit word ‘Vaas’ which means ‘to reside’. Selection of site, architecture, civil engineering, landscaping and astrology are inevitable components of Vaastu.
The shaastra(study) of vaastu(articles) is called Vaastu Shastra. Vaastu classic ‘Samaraangana Sootradhara’ says, “the word ‘Vaastu’ is derived from the word ‘Vasu’ or ‘the Earth’. Earth is the primal Vaastu and all the creations situated on the mother earth are also called ‘Vaastu’.”
